Tradies and Reno’s… going gangbusters!

One of the great positives that has come out of the very difficult 2020 year for the construction industry is the boom in home renos. The last quarter value of all alterations and additions was up 7% which is the highest recorded level since April 2016.

Combined with home owners spending more time at home during lockdown and turning their home into a sanctuary and the governments Home Building Scheme cash grant of $25,000; there has been a explosion of reno activity.

Many areas of the country are reporting a shortage of tradesman and this is great news for the industry with most tradies reporting a large bank of work well into 2021.

Kitchen, home office and detached out buildings are the most popular projects and reflect the shift in usage that the pandemic has brought.

The Block 2020 which has just finalized airing and other home shows having been more pertinent and meaningful than previously are helping to boost the appetite for renovation.

The next few weeks is a great time to get a deal on equipment for next year with many tool and hardware stores having super prices for Black Friday and end of your Christmas sales.

Imex stockists have a wide selection of laser levels on offer and the opportunity to get the latest technology units at reduced prices is too good to miss.

How often should my laser be calibrated?

Laser levels are precise instruments that can easily be knocked or treated roughly in the harsh, abrasive environments that tradies work.

Because of this it is recommended to have both line or rotary lasers checked and re-calibrate every 12 months or in instances of daily use such as a concretor or tiler we suggest every 6 months.

Imex has facilities and approved calibration service agents that can perform these tasks and issue calibration certificates to suit.
